Zo’n vijftien jaar geleden ben ik mijn passie voor het ontwerpen en maken van kleding gaan volgen en heb ik tal van diploma’s behaald. Ook kreeg ik de kans twee masterclasses van Edgar Vos te volgen en kwam zo in aanraking met maatkleding van kwalitatief top niveau.
Daar raakte ik door geïnspireerd en wilde dit ambacht tot op dat niveau in de vingers krijgen. Vele cursussen en praktijklessen volgden en vanaf 2008 produceer ik maatkleding met eigen couture label D’Afra voor individuele klanten.
Nog een aantal jaren verder was ik van mening dat ik zoveel kennis had vergaard dat ik dit vol enthousiasme zou willen delen. In 2014 heb ik het Couture College opgericht en werden mijn vermoedens dat kennis delen leuk is, inderdaad bevestigd. Het bleek een schot in de roos en het aantal leerlingen groeide snel.
